1921 - J.H. Cone founded Connecticut Automotive Specialty Company (CASCO) in Bridgeport, Connecticut
1998 - Take-over of production facilities in Kentucky (USA), Italy, Brazil and Germany.
2003 - New manufacturing plants in Marks (Mississippi) and Tunisia
2004 - Additional development centre for sensors in Frankfurt/Main (Germany)
2005 - New manufacturing facilities in China.
The CASCO organisation is part of the American SEQUA Corporation. CASCO are certified to QS 9000 and ISO 14000 and have over 50 active patents.
1925 - The first wire-free cigar lighter
1928 - Patent for the first cigar lighter with a heated wire coil
1956 - The “V” heated coil is patented
1976 - Patent for pressure-welding the heated coil
2004 - Patent for the “new generation” lighter
1935 - Introduction of automobile ventilator fans and other accessories
1953 - Patent for the sliding ash-tray
2005 - Development of the voltage converter (12/24 VDC to 110/220 VAC)
1980 – 2003 - Development of sensors for cooling fluids, temperature, fluid levels and sunshine conditions
